An Old City

What I had in my mind about an old city is about a place that had experienced the war in the past or about colonialism that had ever occupied a land encompassing this place, a long time ago.

This old city is one of the beautiful places and this is like paradise for the tourists to visit this place their holiday vacations. It was so green and wide landscape as long as we saw from the corner or midst. This is one of beautiful places in the world. I think. If I had some pilgrimages to some holy places in this city, I never missed my map in my hand. I thought, it will never be something pleasant to stray into wrong path in my little adventure if I had no map in my hand.

One day, I met an old man on the street of Breakwall. I intended to say hello to him because I was a new comer of this old city. With trepidation, he responded my say hello with his slightly smile as his formality custom. I knew he did that because he thought that i was a stranger and he might reluctant to have any chatting phase with "strange young man dude" like me.

However, people here were friendly in my sight just for a while until i got this old man's respond. I said in mumble to my heart, "Am I that too dangerous for this man? Or am I one of vice ring that want to abduct this guy or else?". Yes, this is my inevitability to analyze something or to what I was experiencing negatively.

"Hey, dude. Are you looking for something?", a handsome young man approached me from a distance.

"Oh, yes. I'm new comer here and I'm looking for this place". I pointed out the small picture of building on my map.

“Well, I think that you have a wrong direction, dude. This way only leads to you to a market place". He said firmly to convince me that it was true. "You have to go to here, then you walk toward this place, and you'll find your destination". he put his index finger to spot I was standing and drag it upon the dot picture a little far from my place on the map.

"Oh god, you save me. I'm really happy with your help, dude." I was thankful to his remarkable enlightment.

"I'm Evan. What's your name?". Said this handsome young man swope my gleaming face in a while with his decorous question. I forgot to introduce myself in minutes before.

"I'm Brian".

I thought that i had to change my mindset again about people in this city about an arogance before I met him. Evan.

I knew that those civilians were friendly but that old man only as an exception. I had to think about the frailty that made that old man seemed to be afraid of me. He might be a veteran that had a lot of experiences those were related to strangers or He thought that strangers were related to colonialism that will occupy his land, might be.
